Wild Wishes *SOLD

Wild Wishes is a brushed ink painting on 140" cold press watercolor paper. The tones are a warm grey, umber and taupe with a touch of red. The wild weeds around me inspired this painting.

I thought the elegant white washed barn wood complimented the light tones of the piece. Actual artwork is 5"x7". Framed to a final size of 7.5"x9.5" with conservation glass. This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN for $76.00 | 218-547-3729

Modern Scandinavian Garden - Fields of Wild Irises *SOLD

I did say I was in the mood to paint irises! This piece contrasts my last piece in medium and color. I went bold - Modern Scandinavian style for this piece. With it's large size it is a statement piece - meant to make you feel sunshine, joy and  open spaces filled with life.

Modern Scandinavian Garden - Fields of Wild Sunshine is an acrylic painting on stretched canvas with 1.5" thick stretcher bars and cross braces. The edges are painted. Size is 48"x30". This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN  | 218-547-3729

Finch & Spires *SOLD

I picture this painting hanging above a blue velvet couch with Navajo accent pillows and natural wood furniture. Oh....and perhaps an ornate hooked rug with pops of ivory - is that too specific? I know it will take a specific space for this painting to thrive. I used a subtle color palette to relax the movement in the lines. I wanted it to be soothing and a bit edgy. The Finch adds a pop of color to compliment the deep turquoise, grey and burnt sienna. I wanted the finch to be observing - at home in his environment.

Finch & Spires is a 2' x 4' acrylic painting on stretched canvas with 1.5" thick stretcher bars and painted edges. It is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN for $860.00 | 218-547-3729

Homebody [finished]

It might have taken me a little while but "Homebody" is finished and off to its new home. I started "Homebody" this Winter [see February "In Progress" post] and have had it hanging on my mantel. I noticed the colors changed throughout the day with this painting so I would add color with the changing light until I found it satisfied me in all the light from morning to evening. "Homebody" is an acrylic painting on masonite.
