Setting Summer Sun *SOLD

 When approached to paint a scene of hanging laundry, similar to a piece I painted in the past, I imagined an evening summer scene. My last painting felt more like farm land and this one I wanted to feel like lake country. A classic cabin and lake shore, along with timeless clothing, give this piece a feeling of the past but it could easily be present day. I wanted this painting to feel calm - she is content to be where she is.

Modern Scandinavian Eccentric Blooms

 I went the opposite of my usual Modern Scandinavian garden series with this piece. I wanted the shapes to be dramatic and fun with little color to distract from the form. This piece is painted using only Paynes Grey and White with a little bit of sepia in the leaves.

Turning Leaves •SOLD

My next two pieces started with the frame as inspiration. I have a hard time painting a piece to fit a frame unless it is a tall skinny frame. I wanted pieces that were simple in color but had movement and personality.
