Work Before Play Makes for a Great Day •SOLD

This painting has been a fun one to work on. I would work on it outside - when I wanted to relax and imagine raking leaves in the fall with my sister. I imagined having a cup of coffee before layering up to work in the crisp air and thought about the refreshing feel of a morning of work before setting off to play. I tried to create a mood where you can imagine yourself in this scene - with your sister or good friend.

Work Before Play Makes for a Great Day is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 260 lb. hot press paper. It is professionally framed by Heritage Framing with conservation glass. Final framed size is 16.5"x16.5". This original piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN. Prints on powder coated steel with hanging brackets - size 8" square - are also available for $42.00 | 218-547-3729

Early Rise Yard Work •SOLD

I was trying to channel my Grandmother with this scene. I thought about her moving from Arizona to Minnesota in her late 20s. She went from being an independent newspaper woman to living in the quiet north woods with her new husband and his Norwegian family. I thought about how she would have gone from business attire to flannel, wool and work boots. I imagine she loved the view and took to the challenge like a trooper. She must have had thoughts of home dancing in her head as she worked at the resort and adjusted to Minnesota living. This is a piece about daydreams and hard work and being content at the end of the day.

Early Morning Yard Work is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. hot press paper. It is professionally framed to a final size of 13"x18.75". Note: Mat color is deep blue - it appears lavender in this photo.  218-547-3729

Sportsman (original NFS) prints available

I thought it was about time my Walker, Minn. painting series included a man. I wanted a piece that would compliment Morning Mist and one that spoke to the wonderful outdoorsmen in this area. I wanted this piece to contain the energy of the guys who love to get their gear together and go fishing in any kind of weather. This guy was geared up for rain but the day turned nice and the sun came out and of course - the fish were biting.

Sportsman is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. paper. The original is not for sale. I had Next Innovations in Walker, Minn. print this piece on 8"x8" powder coated steel with hanging brackets. This print is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN for $42.00 | 218-547-3729

Morning Mist - prints on steel available

You lake lovers know the peace of wrapping up in a blanket with a warm beverage to observe the morning mist and calm over the water. This feeling is what I tried to capture here. When the mist is dense enough that you hear the boat motor before you see it - that's morning mist on the lake!

I kept the original of this piece which is a 10" brushed ink on 140 lb. paper. I'm excited to say that I have been collaborating with the local metal fabricator in Walker. Next Innovations is known for their metal work and excellent print quality. Their powder coated metal is long lasting and durable. This piece is available as a 8" square on metal with hanging brackets. The brackets hang the piece out from the wall about an inch giving it a unique look that I am enjoying.

Morning Mist on powder coated 8" metal with brackets is $42.00 and available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN. | 218-547-3729
