"Native Spirit" is 30" X 40" on stretched canvas and was inspired by a dancer at the Butte Folk festival 2 years ago during the women's shawl dance. My family attended many Powwows growing up and I have always felt the energy of the drums and chanting and tried to capture this energy in paint.
ReplyDeleteNative Americans are amazing people. I have had the priveledge to attend a few powwows as well. What passion they have and their use of color in everything they do looks like it fits right in with your works.
