Vantage Point

Last summer we saw a bountiful hatch of Easter Kingbird - flycatchers. The adorable fluff balls would gather and cover the branches surrounding our house. As the grew, they spread out and found their own lookouts and claimed individual branches. I thought this guy picked a particularly sweet branch overlooking the lake.

The feeling of youth, health and happiness - of summer and water and flying through the air probably resonates with all of us...especially all of us who have experienced Minnesota summers. I hope you can feel that free spirit in this piece.
