Reed Haven •SOLD

 Layers and layers of paint make up Reed Haven. With every layer my family would tell me it was done....but I knew it wasn't done until now. I want you to feel the stillness, peace and color that I feel when I'm out for an evening paddle and come across calm habitats along the water. I can't tell you how many times I took my camera with me to try to capture the right reflections, color and light to create this piece. I hope you feel like you are out paddling with the birds in the calming light.

Kingfisher's Post

 My paintings slow down a bit during the summer months. This one has been on my easel, beckoning me to finish it, while the model - my Kingfisher inspiration calls from her post. I photographed the finished painting on the dock boards, where the Kingfisher sits. The Kingfisher watched, from a distance, as I took the photos of the painting. I heard her chattering away - I hope she liked her painting.

Orchestra of Reeds *SOLD

Orchestra of Reeds is similar to a piece I painted 2 years ago titled Shoreline Rhapsody. Something about the colors of the shoreline against the native grasses and their movement is so appealing to capture in paint. I couldn’t help adding a sweet little songbird that matched it’s environment. I believe this is a Sparrow of some sort.

Positive Vibrations *SOLD

This beautiful grasshopper was perched on a pillar at our house last summer. I thought he had a nice energy about him. Grasshoppers and Dragonflies have a similar energy - their summer sounds are something I think a lot of us look forward to. When I read that grasshoppers are a symbol of good luck - it made sense.
