A Little Bit of Harmony II •SOLD

I have had the inspiration for this painting for some time now. I photographed this fox a few winters ago. It sat patiently in the snow...it's eye on an unfortunate squirrel. I felt like he needed to be in a lush green environment with a bird on its head...just because his sly smile seemed to call for a bird on his head.

A Little Bit of Harmony II - is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. cold press paper. This piece is professionally framed to a final size of 11.25"x9.25". The original is on hold for now. Cards are available.

Meant To Be •SOLD

We don't see Red Starts around here very often but when we do.. it is very exciting. I have painted this particular Red Start in the past and I wanted to paint him again. After coming across this barn wood red frame I knew the perfect subject to fill it. The background color is a subtle grey green which really sets off the richness of the frame.

The title: Meant to Be - is about the frame and having the sense the we know where we are meant to be. This is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. cold press paper. It is professionally framed with conservation glass to a final size of 7.5"x11".

Modern Scandinavian Columbine Blooms •SOLD

I have been excited about working on this painting. I had the vision for it when the Columbine were blooming this spring. They modeled for me and I sketched my idea in paint. With summer and all the activity that comes with it I have spaced out my time - eager to keep working on it. Red is my favorite color and the intense reds of the Columbine spoke to me. I wanted to make the blooms extra large to keep with the over exaggerated feel of my other Modern Scandinavian pieces. I made the bird small to make the blooms feel even bigger.

Modern Scandinavian Columbine Blooms is an acrylic painting on stretched canvas with painted edges and cross braces. This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN.  | 218-547-3729

My son's favorite bird is the Bluejay. I get excitement out of him when he sees me sketching them. . .so of course I have painted several Bluejays. They are present in our area - year round - which is a bonus for added models.

This is a small 6" square brushed acrylic ink painting on Aquabord. I forgot to take a final framed photo. The final size was 7" square. This piece is sold

For Just a Moment *SOLD

I confess, I sketched this painting out early this Summer and just - this week- got around to finishing it. I had the scene in my head as summer colors but the inspiration that is surrounding us of brilliant fall colors got to me AND as the layers built...the painting turned to fall. Do you see the little bird content to be in the tree?

For Just a Moment is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. paper. It if professionally framed and matted with conservation glass. The final framed size is 20.75"x10.75". This painting is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN  | 218-547-3729

Songbird Setting *SOLD

Songbird Setting is a piece I painted with a textile translation in mind. I wanted the painting to be striking on it's own but be uniform enough to translate well into a woven textile. The movement of the grasses against the still songbird is meant to feel peaceful.

I converted the artwork into a vector illustration and sent the files to Sweden to be woven. I am pleased to say the woven table runners will be at Peculiar Painter late this spring.

Songbird Setting - the original painting - is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. hot press paper. It is professionally framed and matted with conservation glass to a final size of 18"x29". This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN  | 218-547-3729

Woven textiles at 14"x32" and available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN. for $38.00 each
