Push Pole Traditions •SOLD
There is a push pole on display at Peculiar Painter. People often question what the long pole is used for. This pole is used to skillfully guide a canoe through the wild rice. It is beautiful to witness a canoe swiftly move through the rice as the wild rice is harvested every fall. This scene is one I enjoyed observing on Steamboat Bay, Leech Lake in the Fall of 2024.
Push Pole Traditions is a brushed acrylic ink painting on 140 lb. Arches paper. This painting is professionally framed with conservation glass. The final framed size is 14.75"x8.25". This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN. | 218-547-3729

Two on the Crew •SOLD
A couple in a canoe paddled by me, last summer, while I sat on the dock. I admired how they worked together in harmony. It is not often that I see a couple in harmony ...in a canoe. I had my camera at my side and took reference photos to paint.
I thought a palette knife painting would suit this little piece. As with most palette knife paintings - the paint is thick and the style is loose - allowing the viewer to fill in the details. This is a small 8" painting with 1.5" thick stretcher bars and painted edges. Two on the Crew - is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN. | 218-547-3729

Canoe for Two •SOLD
I confess that I sketched this scene out a long time ago and have been excited to paint it ever since. I finally carved out the time to sit down and enjoy painting this scene. I had happy thoughts of being on the water which, I believe, translated into a cheerful piece that a lot of people can relate to - living in Minnesota especially.
Canoe for Two is an acrylic based ink painting on rough press 140 lb. arches paper. It is professionally framed with conservation glass. Final size is 12"x14". This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN. | 218-547-3729

Blue Deep *SOLD
When I started this canvas I was picturing water singing with deep blues under a blue sky. I was going for an emotional connection with thick layers dancing off of each other. The more the piece developed the more I felt it needed context. Sometimes I just can't leave an abstract as an abstract and this is one of those times. I feel like the piece is still about the water but the pair canoeing help give it a nice flow.
Blue Deep is acrylic on canvas with 1.5" thick stretcher bars and painted edges. The size is 24"x36". This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN | 218-547-3729
