Gavin NFS

My Nephew is the nicest and cutest boy. He is an avid outdoorsman, exceptional athlete and has great style and balance. Can you tell I am a proud auntie? My sister took a photo of Gavin fishing last summer. His stance and the summer light made for a perfect painting subject.

This piece will go to my nephew but I will have cards available at Peculiar Painter. The original is a 5"x7" brushed acrylic ink on 140 lb. cold press paper.

Let There Be Days Like This •SOLD

When working on a Palette Knife Painting - my vision is always about color, feel and movement. I wanted this piece to feel like light dancing across the lake - highlighting the fishermen who are content in their surroundings. I pictured 2 buddies who enjoy each others company, they laugh easily and have a healthy competition for the biggest fish. They meet, at the end of the day, to circle their favorite fishing holes as the sun goes down and they clear their heads and think only about the fish that might be hungry below.

Let There Be Days Like This is a 40"x30" acrylic painting on stretched canvas with painted edges and cross bars. This is a deep edge canvas. I used thick layers of paint which does give this painting some weight. This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN.  | 218-547-3729

Campsite Comforts *SOLD (prints available)

I have had the vision for this painting since 2017. Some friends came to visit years ago and they stayed at the Shores of Leech Lake - Campsite #1. It was a gorgeous and hot September evening when we visited their campsite. I was taking photos of the scenery when my husband wandered around look at the lake view. I pictured him holding a cup of coffee and relaxing. When I started to sketch out the scene I mentioned to my husband that it needed something more. He imagined a boy playing or fishing on the rocks and I said - of course! This is based on my family but I painted it in a way that - hopefully - lets you imagine your family - enjoying the lake and family time.

Campsite comforts is an acrylic ink painting on 187 lb. mixed media paper. The painted area measures 14" square. The final framed piece measures 20.5" square. The frame is Italian made with a gritty texture. This piece is framed with conservation glass. The original is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN | 218-547-3729.

I also have cards and metal prints available. Metal prints are 8" square with hangers - $42.00. Paper prints will be available soon as well. This is the latest in my Walker, Minn. series paintings - by Jessie Townsdin Stolzman. (The prints are brighter than the original)

Time Well Spent *SOLD

I contemplated titling this one: First, Biggest and Most. I think a lot of you would understand the title. Fishing with my family we always turn it into a friendly competition. The more I thought about fishing - the final title came to mind. I have never had a bad day fishing. Fishing could be a prescribed therapy for the mind.

Time Well Spent is an acrylic painting on stretched canvas. This is a palette knife painting with many layers. I did use brush work for the boat and fishermen details. Size is 30"x40".  Canvas is professionally stretched with cross bars and painted edges. Edges are 1.75" thick. This piece is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN  | 218-547-3729
