A Tiller in Time •SOLD

 From our house, I get to witness the occasional boat pass by, operated by a tiller motor. The slower pace, posture of the driver and setting always brings me back to happy days with my Grandad. I hope this painting brings you to happy days on the water - going just the right pace - with the wind in your hair. 

A Tiller in Time is an acrylic painting with palette knife application. The paint is applied thick to give a feeling of dappled light on water. Two on the Crew •SOLD

A couple in a canoe paddled by me, last summer, while I sat on the dock. I admired how they worked together in harmony. It is not often that I see a couple in harmony ...in a canoe. I had my camera at my side and took reference photos to paint. 

I thought a palette knife painting would suit this little piece. As with most palette knife paintings - the paint is thick and the style is loose - allowing the viewer to fill in the details.
