This painting is a self portrait. It represents a lot of women in the Idaho Panhandle to me. When fall rolls around I am always surprised at the number of women out chopping and stacking wood. I never envisioned myself chopping wood ...and I am not very good at it but we do what needs to be done to be cozy when the snow flies.
ReplyDeleteJessie, you are an amazing woman! At the age of 30, I just learned to chop wood 2 weeks ago and it is HARD! I applaud you in this task and even more for utilizing your beautiful talent of creating these gorgeous paintings. I think this one may be my new favorite.
