Patchwork Petals *SOLD

Patchwork Petals is a colorful painting. This piece came about after a painting lesson - this winter. It was an acrylic class and after the painters left - I noticed all the beautiful paint left over on their palettes. Those who paint with acrylic know that the acrylic does not last once it is out of the tube. I layered a canvas with the color, just to make sure it didn't go to waste. Those colors became the foundation for this little piece - a patchwork of color!

Calm Restored *SOLD

Earlier - this year - I painted a piece titled: Calm Within.  After finishing the piece - I pictured it as a square painting and made a mental note to create a similar piece in a square format. Not long after selling the piece - I got a call for a custom piece - similar to Calm Within - only smaller. Perfect, I thought, I will paint it sooner than planned.

My palette is nearly identical to my first painting. Here I created more variation between the red leaves in order to give it the feeling of vines overlapping and weaving between each other.

Native Fields *SOLD

It has been a few years since I have worked in oil paint. I decided it was time to break out the walnut oil for this painting. Native Fields is similar in style to my painting titled - Rise with the Sun which is acrylic on canvas. My color palette for this piece is much deeper though, with pure reds and ultramarine blues as well as highlights of naples yellow.
