Nasturtiums

 Nasturtiums dance through my Mom's garden and greet us as we arrive. The lily-pad like leaves do a good job of trying to steal the show but the orange, yellow and red flowers succeed in making their presence known. The more I read about Nasturtiums the more I admire them. It's not often that you find a flower that is edible, thrives when neglected, protects other plants from bugs and is a beautiful pollinator. Their graceful twirls and swoops make it an art nouveau lovers dream.

Beach Light Revisited

It's not often, but every once in a while I decide to revise a painting. I painted beach light after a magical day on the water with the sun setting and peace in the air. The painting I originally created had my son running along the beach. I liked the scene but it didn't capture my son or the moment. I felt like the background had the magic though. This updated version has a paddle boarder - paddling into the sunset. I feel the moment is right now and I can keep that magical day secure in my mind and hope you find a connection to this new piece.
