 What is it about the Iris that feels so regal and wise? The elegant colors, complimentary veining and swooping curve of the petals and leaves are a painters dream. I imagined this one as a woodcut print and painted it to have that feel.

Modern Scandinavian - Wild Irises *SOLD

I wasn't kidding when I said I was in a red mood.  When in the mood to paint bold colors - a modern Scandinavian design is the way to go. The inspiration for this piece were wild irises I spotted hiding in a marsh - last year. I simplified their shape into almost origami feeling designs to give it a geometric and elongated whimsical feel.

Scandinavian Garden - Playful Blooms *SOLD

I had some fun with watercolor paint and this playful little piece. In the tradition of my Scandinavian Garden series I over-exaggerated the flower shapes and used bright colors to play off of the dancing shapes.
