Headwaters of the Mississippi was inspired by a photograph I came across of my Great Grandmother standing at the Mississippi headwaters in Itasca State Park. I thought of how the headwaters of the Mississippi really have not changed in physical appearance over the years but our style of dress has, as you can tell by the modest dress. It is fun to imagine all of the generations who have stood at these headwaters and thought of the ones who stood there before them. Itasca has a great historic energy that keeps us coming back.
