Picea Sunrise was inspired by a White Spruce which stands at a trail crossing out at Shingobee recreation area. The trees and vegetation out at Shingobee have inspired many paintings. This is my first conifer tree painting though.
I was married out near Shingobee on Tuesday and painted this piece on Saturday. SO…this is my first piece as a married woman. I have decided to continue to sign my paintings as Jessie Townsdin, although I will be taking the name Jessie Stolzman. My husband is a forester and had the suggestion of Picea Sunrise for the title of the painting. Picea Glauca is the scientific name for White Spruce.
Picea Sunrise is a 12"x36" acrylic painting on stretched canvas with 1.5" stretcher bars and painted edges. It is available at Peculiar Painter in Walker, MN
